SYNOGEL-T

Prefilled Syringe for Intra-Articular Injection

The name Synogel T® is derived from the combination of the words “Synovial”, “Gel”, and “Triamcinolone”, collectively referring to an intra-articular gel. This product contains high-molecular-weight cross-linked hyaluronic acid together with a corticosteroid, which enhances the viscosity and viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid.

Synovial fluid is a naturally occurring gel-like fluid within the joint cavity that lubricates the articular surfaces, facilitating smooth and pain-free joint movement. Hyaluronic acid is the principal constituent of synovial fluid. It is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan polymer widely distributed throughout human connective tissues and joints, where it plays a fundamental role in maintaining the lubricating and shock-absorbing properties of synovial fluid.

Synogel T® is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, single-dose prefilled syringe containing a 2% cross-linked sodium hyaluronate solution and 0.45% triamcinolone hexacetonide. Owing to its high molecular weight, the product demonstrates prolonged intra-articular residence time. Synogel T® improves joint mobility and alleviates disorders associated with the degeneration of synovial fluid and articular cartilage.

Composition

Sodium Hyaluronate                          50 mg / 2.5 mL

Triamcinolone Hexacetonide           11.25 mg / 2.5 mL

Synogel T® is indicated for intra-articular injection to relieve pain and improve restricted joint mobility associated with cartilage degeneration and pathological changes in synovial fluid, particularly in large joints such as the knee and shoulder.

Synogel T® acts as a viscoelastic supplement or substitute for the synovial fluid of the knee joint and is specifically indicated for the rapid and sustained relief of symptoms associated with joint disorders, including osteoarthritis. Its primary mode of action is to provide long-term symptomatic relief through joint lubrication and mechanical support, while the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of triamcinolone hexacetonide complement these benefits by providing rapid pain relief.

  • Intravascular administration of Synogel T® is strictly contraindicated, as it may result in undesirable systemic adverse effects.

Synogel T® should not be administered in patients with any of the following conditions:

    ● Known hypersensitivity to sodium hyaluronate or any of its derivatives.

    ● Infection or dermatological disorders at the intended injection site.

    ● Severely inflamed or infected synovial fluid.

    ● Systemic bleeding disorders.

  • Synogel T® prefilled syringes are intended exclusively for administration by a qualified physician experienced in intra-articular injection techniques.

Depending on the patient’s clinical condition, two to three intra-articular injections are recommended. Multiple joints may be treated during the same treatment course when clinically indicated. Due to the high molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid contained in Synogel T®, the beneficial therapeutic effects of a complete treatment course may persist for up to 36 weeks. Repeat treatment cycles may be administered at the discretion of the treating physician based on the patient’s clinical response.
